Lavender Milk Tea Recipe:

Ingredients:

-2 teaspoons dried lavender buds (culinary grade)

-2 cups water

-1 cup Plant-based Milk (We used Elmhurst Hazelnut milk)

-Optional: Honey, Maple Syrup, or sweetener of your choice

-Optional: Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Bring two cups of water to a (close to) boil in a small saucepan. For prepping we use a coffee press for a smoother cleanup, and no need for a strainer. Remember to rinse with medium hot water so that when you pour the water it does not break the glass of the coffee press.
  2. Once the water is close to boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat.
  3. Add two teaspoons – 1 tablespoon of dried lavender buds to the coffee press (this depends on how strong you prefer the lavender flavor to be present in your tea).
  4. Pour the water into the coffee press. Cover the coffee press and let the lavender steep for about 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength of flavor. The color will change from clear to yellowish to pinkish (this will also help you understand how much the lavender has infused into the water).
  5. Press down the coffee press button, which will strain/separate the tea using a fine mesh strainer. If you do not have a coffee press use a tea infuser or strainer to remove the lavender buds.
  6. If desired, sweeten the tea with honey or your preferred sweetener while it’s still warm, stirring until dissolved.
  7. Pour the lavender tea into cups or mugs, filled with 8oz of your preferred plant milk. Garnish with lemon slices if desired, and serve hot or iced.

Tips:

*If you like the lavender flavor and want to use it on other dishes or drinks you can make it into a syrup. (Recipe coming soon)

*Use your favorite plant-based milk, this will make sure that you like the taste.
